TransLink's crisis not a funding issue
TransLink's recent forecast of escalating annual deficits as early as 2010 and the prospect of bridge tolls in the GVRD is not news. Financial crises are a repeating theme for the GVRD's transportation authority.
 

Questions about Lebanon
Why did those caught in the Lebanon crisis venture there in the first place? Lebanon is a war zone and they knew it. These individuals were well aware of the very real possibility of military conflict prior to going, yet went anyway.
 

Taxpayers shouldn't pay
It is most unfortunate that such atrocities of war are going on between Israel and Lebanon.

I am writing to publicly express my condolences to the families of RCMP constables Robin Cameron and Marc Bourdages, the two RCMP officers who were killed in the line of duty recently at Spiritwood, Sask.
 

Cartoon was 'distasteful'
Re: Ingrid Rice's cartoon (Burnaby NOW, Saturday, July 22), depicting the biblical prophecy of Jesus' Second Coming taking "true" Christians to heaven as a way of removing President Bush from the White House prior to 2008.
