Local brothers score for their Michigan hockey teams

Milan Gajic scored a goal to help the University of Michigan Wolverines snap a three-game losing skid.

The sophomore forward tied the score 1-1 with his fourth goal of the season as the No. 10 Michigan scored a 3-2 overtime victory over No. 14 Miami of Ohio in CCHA conference play at the Yost arena Saturday.

Gajic also assisted on a goal in Michigan's 5-4 loss to Boston University in the title game at the Great Lakes Invitational over the Christmas holiday.

At Michigan State, freshman Nenad Gajic scored his third marker for the Spartans in a 6-0 win over Lake Superior State in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

The two Gajic brothers both have a total of nine points to date for their respective schools.

Both played their final years of B.C. Hockey League hockey with the now-defunct Burnaby Bulldogs before earning athletic scholarships at their respective NCAA Division 1 schools.
